The O-ring made of ethylene propylene rubber is widely used in brake systems. This material has excellent high-temperature resistance and aging resistance, and can work normally in high-temperature and high-pressure environments. It also has excellent ozone resistance and low temperature resistance.

However, ethylene propylene rubber cannot be vulcanized with sulfur. To solve this problem, a small amount of a third component with double bonds can be introduced into the main chain to sulfurize with sulfur, resulting in EPDM rubber. This makes ethylene propylene rubber have stronger weather resistance and ozone resistance, and can resist the erosion of various organic and inorganic acids, detergents, soda, potassium hydroxide and other chemical substances.
