O-ring seal is a type of rubber seal with a circular cross-section, widely used for sealing various mechanical equipment, such as machine tools, ships, automobiles, aerospace equipment, metallurgical machinery, chemical machinery, engineering machinery, construction machinery, mining machinery, petroleum machinery, plastic machinery, agricultural machinery, and various instruments and meters.

In these application fields, O-ring seals can withstand pressure of tens of pascals (thousands of pounds), and can be used in static applications or dynamic applications where there is relative motion between components. It has the characteristics of small size, easy installation and disassembly, both dynamic and static seals are available, static seals have almost no leakage, single piece use of bidirectional seals, low dynamic friction, and low price.
